Tree house

The tree house beams were in place in two Douglas firs near Rope Land August 28th.
  

On the 29th we tried family yoga at the Y, but no one thought it was that great. In the afternoon ten cubic yards of wood chips were dumped under Rope Land.  So now it’s perfectly safe.

Pirates

A huge cauliflower came in our farm box back in August.
 
For going two weeks without any potty accidents, Gryphon was awarded another pirate vessel. 
 
The tree house project began with my attempt to make a beam.
 
 
   

Appointment

On August 19th we ventured to downtown Portland for some fun with a pediatric gastroenterologist. Gryphon packed some bakery treats into his intestines on the way.
  
Riding the streetcar and the tram up the hill were the highlights of the outing.  We learned that Gryphon was backed up like a play dough extruder.
  
His colon cleanse regimen began with an Ethiopian dinner at Queen of Sheba.
 
We relaxed with the Party Pugs some more, and headed home after lunch the next day.
 
Back at home, we got some supplies delivered for our tree house and garden-making projects. 
 
On August 22nd we made some popsicles and a new rope swing.
 
   
 

Goodbye, cottage

 
The next morning wasn’t sunny, but it was still good for playing pirate boat on the logs.
 

 
Then it was back to Portland, where we met second cousins Maia and Fiona at the park before returning to Casa Lester. 
 
Alice played on the hammock with Stephanie while Gryphon enjoyed video game time with the uncles and avuncular cousin David.
 
On the 18th I took the children to the Schofield house and Bar Carlo.  We saw Cheri’s parents in the afternoon before returning to Dog World,
 
where the kids got to splash around with Aunt Alyson in a giant dog bowl.
