Keyboard

We've noticed that Gryphon is drawn to the keyboard whenever he's near a computer. So far he has performed the following tasks when allowed to use the keyboard briefly:
  • View the source code of a web page and search for a string.
  • Open Start>Run and run a program
  • Shutdown the computer (while his dad was in the middle of a project)
So today we went to the Goodwill bins and found him a keyboard of his own.

Cold

Gryphon has a cold. But that hasn't stopped his dancing.

MLK Day

Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.

A walk in the cold

After 40 minutes in the backpack, Gryphon was getting too cold and tired, so he spent the last 20 minutes of the walk sleeping underneath my jacket.

Bubbaville

Nathan took the Cunningham's advice to check out the Portland Old Time Music Festival yesterday while Cheri was in class. The community center was packed to the brim with people playing instruments (mostly banjos, guitars and violins), singing, and dancing. Baby Jonah attended but Gryphon was relaxing at the grandparents' after a couple of immunization shots.

Baja Trip Parte Cuatro

We were a little slow getting to the border, and even slower crossing it. During the 2.5-hour wait, we bought some churros and teacups from the peddlers, but we missed our flight out of San Diego.

So we set up a command station in McDonald's and re-booked flights before heading to Grandpa and Ele's for the night.

The next day Cheri and Nathan flew home, but the rest of the crew had to wait another day.

Baja Trip Parte Tres

The day after we arrived in Punta Banda, we spied an unusual airplane flying around the beach. It appeared to be a hang glider with seats and a propeller in the back. When it landed in front of our house, Nathan couldn't resist climbing aboard.

The plane even appeared in a photo of the family:

Baja Trip Parte Dos

We found a swing for Gryphon at the Ensenada flea market.

Venus over Punta Banda

Laura and Matt were the first to try the chilly water.

We watched the waves splash at "La Bufadora"

Gryphon liked eating in restaurants, but didn't much care for the mariachi bands.

Baja Trip Parte Uno

After meeting Laura's boyfriend Matt in San Diego, we drove into Mexico, past Ensenada to Punta Banda. We stayed in a great beach house that Mojo had located. It was right on the water, which provided much entertainment throughout the week. We bought supplies and ate in Punta Banda mostly, but made a few trips to Ensenada during the week, and visited the nearby "Bufadora" blow hole.

Ours was the red-roofed one on the left. This picture was taken from a hang-glider-airplane thing that landed on the beach and beckoned to Nathan.

Dinner at Danny's. Can you see the glowing eye of the dog that joined us for dinner under the table?

Cheri hunted for treasures in Ensenada, but found them mostly on the beach.
