Heather comes to Portland

My cousin Heather flew up from California to meet baby Alice and see the family before we move to Saipan in mid-August. In addition, we managed a thorough culinary tour of Portland during her short stay.

We began with the berries in the yard, followed by Thai, Old Town Pizza,

Voodoo Donuts, and Arleta Library Café.


After swimming today, everyone was pleasantly exhausted.

Norton says goodbye

We adopted Norton from the Rabbit Advocates in 2004. Since then he has been with us for the move to Portland, watched Tippy and Bijou come and go, and seen Gryphon and Alice join the family. Needless to say, we were sorry to have to return him to the Rabbit Advocates today.

When we got Norton he had nearly been put down due to aggressive behavior, and we were warned that he could not be around children.

Summer fun

My teacher friend Julie came over to pick raspberries and help Gryphon rebuild his train track the other day.


Yesterday I took Alice and Gryphon to the Waffle Window for breakfast.

Today Gryphon was excited to take a bus ride to no place in particular.

Family visit

Nanna, Dar Dar, and Aunt Laura have been keeping us entertained and focused on packing up the house over the last few days.

Laura and her friend Claire joined us this year, along with Jared, Alyson, and Billie the dog.

The kids did well on the long drive to Medford in southern Oregon. We were glad we chose to stay in a hotel that night.
