Baby Gryphon has caught another cold, but that hasn't stopped him from chowing down at the Indian buffet with us. Nanna Jo came down to take care of everyone before leaving for Micronesia with Dar Dar. Nathan has been at school for 22 of the past 48 hours, for parent conferences and a math tournament. Gryphon is enjoying the old "Exer-saucer" that we outfitted with some new toys.
Gryphon appreciated his first "real" food - he gobbled up the apple and rice baby food like nobody's business. Unlike with the rice cereal, he mysteriously managed not to spit it out ...much.
We went with the Cunninghams and Schofields to a nearby pumpkin patch today. Cheri got a large pumpkin - but then realized it was just Gryphon. We searched the field until we found a pumpkin shaped like Gryphon's head (more on that to come).
On Saturday Gryphon visited our favorite Indian buffet in Vancouver. He enjoyed the honeydew. Nathan donated his 25th pint of blood afterward, and the trio returned home to relax. Another trip to the nearby pool left Gryphon exhausted afterward, which allowed his parents to do some homework in the cafe across the street.
Now that it's acting more like fall around here, we packed up the pumpkin and headed out for some summer fun at the pool. The nearby Mt. Scott Community Center has family swim time, during which the pool fills with children and urine. But we didn't mind.
We think Gryphon enjoyed it, though he maintained a serious expression on his face the whole time. He was very tired afterward, and the three of us took a nap in the beanbag at home.
