Last Saturday we headed down to Portland, stopping at the rock and gem show on our way out of town. The children cracked open a beautiful geode, then hopped in the car for their lunch-on-the-go, and promptly fell asleep.
Before long we had arrived at our favorite Indian restaurant, and were joined by the Cornetts.
Jude and Ada discussed the merits of The Magic Treehouse serial novels.
We had a quick round of duck-duck-goose before departing for the land of the Party Pugs (Uncle Jared and Aunt Alyson’s house).

The experiment
Cheri entertained the children with a science experiment – adding alka-seltzer to a mixture of oil and colored water. Meowmers was uninterested.
We think we spotted a purple finch the other day.
This video I made for Oxfam gained 60,000 views in two weeks! 4/2 update: Treaty passed!

Pi Day
Midhusband Clark entertained the café where we had lunch on the 10th.

On Pi Day I headed to Seattle for some professional development, and got to hang out with high school friend Casey and his wife.

Everyone loves asparagus around here – everyone except Gryphon, that is.

Meowmers loves a good fire in the evening.

Pirate Cave
Let’s see, what’s been going on lately? Alice got into the make-up drawer, Gryphon listened to some audio books,

Alice got a “no books in the bed” rule, Cheri plotted future rock hounding expeditions,

We played with stickers and made Dr. Seuss pancakes,

snuggled Meowmers, acquired a dining table from the neighbors,

And discovered a play area, dubbed “The Pirate Cave,” under the branches of a big cedar.
