Firefighter Shane

After filling up on pancakes yesterday morning, the gentlemen headed to the bakery for lunch. Then we [slowly] walked down to Station #1 to see Tad's brother, Firefighter Shane.

Gryphon spent the time in awed silence.

Our trip download included most of his favorite things!

Nap time came too soon.

A visit from Tad

Farmers Tad came over to play yesterday. We made cookies, pad thai, and our annual pilgrimage to see the Mel Brown Septet at Jimmy Mak's.

Summer break has begun

Some of the math teachers made impromptu signs to bid farewell to the school buses on Wednesday.



Gryphon and I made pancakes this morning.

We saw farmers Greg and Amy's pigs when we went to get eggs.

Check-up

After having my LASIK surgery yesterday, I went in today for the post-op: now I can see somewhere between 20/15 and 20/20. Gryphon did a further check-up (he like hearing the video sped up, so I left it that way):

Other good news yesterday: we learned that we probably won't leave until mid-August, and that I'm a state finalist for the PAEMST.

Craziness

As we try to pull things together for our move, it seems we're running around like crazy people.


We're trying to eat up as much Pearl Bakery bread as we can before the move.

Packing up

Nanna and Dar Dar came to help us get ready for our move. We painted the bedroom, prepared the attic storage area, and had an impromptu garage sale, selling off the futon set and other miscellany.


Mojo broke her foot while doing aerobics in the kitchen a couple months ago, so she took on the more difficult job of watching Grypon and Alice.

Getting ready

We've begun packing up the house in preparation for a 2-year move to Saipan, where Cheri will work as a midwife. We're trying to get the house ready to be rented, which is a daunting task. Craigslist is our friend.
